What is custom packaging?

Custom packaging is packaging that is created on an individual basis to uniquely protect a machine or asset - expensive or otherwise. Our engineering team starts with a sample of the object that needs to be protected. We map out the outer dimensions of the asset, then we design packaging solutions that protect the asset in transit. We use corrugated cardboard, foam, or wooden crates to build a safe "cocoon" around the asset that protects it from external damage.

What custom packaging should i use?

Your packaging solution differs with the specific characteristics of the item you are trying to protect. Lighter and smaller items can be well protected with the use of corrugated cardboard and polyurethane foam. Larger and heavier items might need the added protection provided by wooden crates and polyethylene foam instead.
With over 50 years of experience and more than 10,000 effective packaging designs under our belt, we are well prepared to help you determine an effective packaging design that works.

How do you design custom packaging?

Our designs are a direct result of having a close, cooperative relationship with our customers. Our engineers meet with our customers and discuss all the factors that can help create a reliable packaging solution.
Our customers share either a physical sample of the product or a CAD (Computer Aided Design) model of the unit. They describe how the product will be packed and point out any special considerations that they may need.
We then work with what our customer has provided to engineer the perfect custom packaging to fit the needs of the consumer and review the package with our customer for their approval.

What is the difference between cardboard and corrugated?

Cardboard is a very general term that applies to a number of sturdy paper products. The two most common include the material your cereal box or jigsaw puzzles are made out of (paperboard) and the three-layered, sturdier cardboard that many boxes and packaging supplies are made out of (corrugated). Therefore, corrugated is simply a subset of cardboard. Most people refer to the three-layered product as "cardboard," whereas most manufacturers in the packaging industry call that combination "corrugated."

what are the minimum quantities for custom packaging orders?

We do not have a minimum order quantity, however, initial design costs are spread out over the number of units produced; thus, a single unit would be more expensive per unit than a dozen or even 100 units ordered.

Can i get a sample?

Yes! Samples are a critical part of our design and approval process. Simply fill out a contact form and a member of our sales team will contact you to help understand your packaging needs.

Can i add my logo to your products?

Yes! We can easily apply your logo to most panel products (plywood, corrugated, etc.). Please inquire about logos or stenciling when meeting with our engineers and sales representatives.
